  • There was a power issue at the Datacenter, and when power was restored there was severe corruption with the server's filesystem.

    We attempted to repair the filesystem and it got the server online, but as you are aware, there were still several issues after the server came back online. After much detailed analysis, we determined that there was still extensive damage to the filesystem, and it was deemed necessary to perform a full restore of the server from our offsite backups.

    At this point the restore is ongoing, and moving quickly. We are also taking whatever measures possible to increase throughput for the restore and reduce the time needed to restore the server.

    I again would like to apologize for the inconvenience here.

    Update:
    The file restoration is complete. We did bring it back online but the main file system in the backup contained errors. As a result manual file system check is required before we bring the server is back online fully again. This has completed the 1st pass.

    There is Innodb tablespace issue on summit still which we are trying to resolve as quickly as possible. More updates will follow.

    both server and backup machine are in the same data centre. We're trying to find out from the datacenter exactly how these systems are connected. The restore time is sickening so it is doubtful this is a 10G network throughout or somethings just off. We didn't expect this so we are investigating why this took so long.

  • The Server karina seems to be facing  network issues with our DC. The data center network engineers are already on this with top priority to mitigate the network issues and we are expecting this will be solved in the the next couple of hours.

  • The DC engineers have identified a issue with a upstream provider based in telecity in London having an outage. This is a major issue effecting many providers and organizations throughout the UK.

    They will have their best people on it and be working for a fix but as of yet are net releasing an ETA or what the actual issue is. As soon as we have information we'll update.

    SSE Telecom are suffering an outage in London related to a failed amplification unit. Apparently they are working with the supplier of the unit but no ETA as yet.

  • We currently have our Datacentre engineers looking at the Glasgow issue. It appears as though a router has failed and it hasn't failed over to the second router. The datacentre are currently investigating this to bring things back online as quickly as possible and will update as soon as we can.

  • Uk server Norwich was showing some disk IO errors on its primary drive. We have arranged an emergency live data migration to a new server. The estimated time for the live data migration is 12-24 hours. The server may run at high loads during the migration. Both new and current servers will be online during the migration.

DDoS attack on Glasgow (Resolved)

  • Our network admins have identified an IP address which seems to have been receiving a very high DDoS attack due to which all traffic through our main switch is affected. We are deploying the mitigation plan. More updates to follow.

  • Due to a new exploit we had to do an emergency upgrade of the servers kernals. Unfortunatly this caused a disk access issue and the new kernal we upgraded also caused a DNS issue.
